Donner Lake

Donner Lake is a natural lake offering sandy beaches small and large. This neighborhood is an older Truckee community with well established gardens, charming little cabins and exquisite lakefront homes. The lake is busy in summer with swimming, boating, waterskiing, fishing and folks just relaxing. If you don’t want sand … there are many docks to spend a lazy day alone or with friends and family. It’s like stepping back in time.

In winter the lake is mostly ice covered with snowy shores.  Snow capped mountains surround.  Although some people like to ice skate across the frozen lake it is a risky adventure.  There are many stories of people and animals breaking through the ice … best to just enjoy the beauty of winter wonderland from the shore.
